Since being severely wounded in Iraq on 6 APR 2008, one day before my 30th birthday, I have had several key motivators in my recovery. The first motivator was my wife and son. Knowing that many of my comrades didn't come home to their families, everyday that I get to spend with my family is a blessing, not to be taken for granted. My second motivator is my love for the outdoors. It could be spring turkey hunting, summer bass fishing, fall deer hunting, or winter duck hunting. Any chance I can spend outdoors, I do and would not let my injuries prevent me. I had the opportunity to hunt at Camp Hackett in the fall of 2010 with John McDaniel, founder. After seeing his passion and knowing that I couldn't be a leader/mentor in the Army anymore, I felt like I would be able to continue to serve by helping WWIA.
