Scott Malcom

Scott Malcom, a product of an Army family, hails from Austin, Texas. He recently retired from the Army and joined Wounded Warriors in Action in January, 2013. Highlights from his military career include flying the OH58-D Advanced Scout Helicopter in Germany and the Middle East, performing groundbreaking operational public affairs for Special Operating Forces during the invasion of Iraq in 2003, commanding the American Forces Radio and Television Network in Europe, and most recently serving as the Director of Public Affairs for United States Southern Command. In this final capacity, Scott headed up the communications for a multi-agency organization that operated in 31 nations in Central and South America and the Caribbean Basin.

Scott hold’s Master’s degrees in Rhetoric and Technical Communication from Michigan Technological University and in National Security Resourcing Strategy from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces (National Defense University). His military awards include the Legion of Merit, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal and the Army Staff Identification badge.

More than anything a family man, Scott has been happily married to Leslee Malcom for 20 years and they have four children. Their son is a cadet at the United States Military Academy and their three daughters are involved in cheerleading, dance and athletic activities at Braden River High School in Bradenton, Florida, where the family calls home.
