John Knight

I was born and raised on a small family farm in west Michigan. Growing up if I wasn't hunting or fishing then I was working on the farm. Deer hunting has always been in my blood, it's not just hunting to me, it's a lifestyle. If it's in season, then I'm putting in the man hours tracking and hunting it. Growing up that way, it's no wonder I joined the army. I was on the scout platoon in 1/87, 1st brigade 10th mnt div where I deployed to Iraq twice and once to Afghanistan. While serving in Afghanistan I was wounded while on a OP/LP when we where ambushed. Receiving a gunshot to the head and shrapnel to my neck, I knew that day my army days where over. After retiring from the army it was back in the woods with the bow. In 2012 I attended the MO-KAN hunt and had the greatest time meeting the staff and other wounded heroes. After just a weekend I knew I had to be apart of such a great foundation that gives back to the heroes whom otherwise might not have such an opportunity. With the support of my lovely wife Crystal and daughter Hannah, we are planning some great hunting and fishing events here in Michigan.
