A raffle basket auction and a 50/50 will be held with those proceeds generously donated to WWIA. \n\n\n\nThis event is held annually to honor the memory of James “Squeak” Thompson\, a 6-year Marine Corp Vietnam Veteran and Purple Heart Recipient who had a tremendous heart for helping his fellow veterans. We serve all Purple Heart Heroes\, regardless of era of conflict. \n\n\n\nIn 2024\, WWIA held 40 events across 35 states. Through opportunities like whitetail deer hunting in Tennessee\, halibut fishing in Alaska\, and bear hunting in Wisconsin\, these Heroes experience a wide variety of opportunities that fulfill lifelong dreams. \n\n\n\nWWIA provided real services to 166 Purple Heart recipients this past year through therapeutic and adaptive sports like hunting and fishing\, helping our wounded veterans recover mentally\, physically\, and spiritually from their wartime experiences. \n\n\n\nWe’re committed to healing the lives of America’s veterans and reducing veteran suicide. For 19 years\, we’ve been changing and saving lives! We did a deer drive along the banks of the Saint Francis River\, that drive was one of the wildest experiences I've had hunting. We had to recover a buck out of the river in a kayak. E.
