Purple Heart Associates
Purple Heart Associates are combat-wounded veterans who have gone through our program and become leaders within the Foundation. Nominated by their peers, these Wounded Warriors are amazing people who have proven to be contributing members of their communities, demonstrating excellent leadership skills. Purple Heart Associates offer a number of services to the Foundation, from outreach to legislation to leadership on our events. A select group of Purple Heart Associates are chosen to attend the WWIA Guide School, a multi-disciplinary outdoor leadership course. After training as WWIA Guides, they go on to serve as mentors for our events, facilitating the development and growth of strong, meaningful bonds between small groups of Wounded Warriors. They also improve connections between the Heroes on our events and local sportsmen and women around the country who are dedicated to serving them. The Foundation could not do its job without the hard work and dedication of these incredible men and women who dedicate their time and energy to the WWIA mission.
Pro Staff
WWIA’s Pro Staff are professional outdoor guides who dedicate their time and resources to serving our Purple Heart veterans. In addition to guiding WWIA events, these Patriots organize fundraisers, compete professionally under the WWIA brand, and raise awareness for our cause in their communities. If you are looking to employ a hunting or fishing guide, look no further. We can vouch for these guides as experts in their field who provide world-class service.
Executive Staff and Advisors
Our Executive Staff and Advisors provide behind-the-scenes administrative support for WWIA. The majority of our staff operate from our Headquarters in Apollo Beach, FL, providing logistics, development, financial, and other core mission support.
Board of Directors
WWIA’s Board of Directors is responsible for overseeing the Foundations activities. Our Board Members meet periodically to discuss and vote on the affairs of the organization.
