2nd Annual Montauk NY Inshore/Offshore Fishing

Three Purple Heart Heroes traveled to beautiful Montauk, New York for the 2nd Annual Montauk NY Inshore/Offshore Fishing event. After the event was delayed by a day due to rough weather conditions, Heroes Daniel, Roy, and Kurt arrived and were warmly welcomed by Hosts Scott Paternoster and Tony McCann and the outstanding team of supporters who would be spending the next several days with them. After getting settled into their accommodations, everyone enjoyed a great dinner at a local pub and an evening of conversation and camaraderie.

The Heroes headed out on the water the following morning with Captain Ben and Host Scott for what proved to be an exceptional day of fishing. The action was fast and exciting, and within just four hours the coolers were filled and everyone transitioned to catch-and-release fishing. After returning to shore, Scott prepared a delicious dinner featuring some of the day’s fresh catch as everyone relaxed and shared stories from their time on the water.

The next morning began with a special opportunity to tour the historic Montauk Lighthouse and grounds before it opened to the public. The Heroes were able to explore the property and climb to the top of the lighthouse, providing a memorable start to the day. Plans for offshore fishing once again had to be adjusted due to rough seas, but Captain Ben and Scott kept the Heroes on the fish with some outstanding bottom fishing and striped bass action. The fishing remained plentiful throughout the day, resulting in another full cooler and a tremendous final day on the water.

The 2nd Annual Montauk NY Inshore/Offshore Fishing provided an incredible setting for our Heroes to relax, enjoy some outstanding fishing, and form genuine friendships. Special recognition and sincere thanks to Hosts Scott Paternoster and Tony McCann for their tremendous hospitality and generosity. Additional gratitude and appreciation to Captain Ben, Brian, Jim, and all the wonderful friends and supporters who went above and beyond to make the Heroes feel at home and helped make this another memorable experience in Montauk.
