Thank you for your interest in becoming an event Host in support of WWIA’s mission to Honor, Connect, and Heal America’s combat-wounded Veterans. Here are a few important things to know when considering hosting an event.

  • Our Hosts are volunteers. We don’t pay or solicit Hosts for our events.
  • In order to be a Host/Team Member, we expect our Hosts to offer a high-quality hunting or fishing excursion utilizing resources you/your community have available.
  • We will provide a trained and certified Guide to support your mission to act as an intermediary between you, your community, and the WWIA team/HQ.
  • We deliver 3-5 combat-wounded Purple Heart Veterans on average per mission. If your desire is to accommodate more Heroes, we can discuss your request.
  • Hosts are expected to provide lodging, meals, and a safe and stress-free environment for Heroes to thrive in.
  • We typically expect to do this over a weekend period (Fri-Mon). If your request exceeds that, we can discuss this on a case-by-case basis.
  • We expect that you will engage your communities in arranging activities to defray the cost business.
  • WWIA handles event insurance, travel arrangements, and the vetting of Heroes; manages all tax-deduction and donor acknowledgment letters; coordinates recognition awards; and equips Guides with swag packages for disbursement during the event.
