2nd WWIA Safety Symposium

WWIA Safety Symposium event in Phillips Wisconsin

The 2nd iteration of the WWIA Safety Symposium starts today! This comprehensive Safety Symposium is funded and sanctioned by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and focuses on safety in the field as well as adaptive sporting techniques. This event will provide seven WWIA Guides the opportunity to further advance their skill set and to receive the most current and up-to-date safety training and standards. This will assist them in leading their fellow combat-wounded Heroes on WWIA events and help facilitate our Hosts in ensuring that every WWIA event is a safe and enjoyable experience. This all-expense paid 6-day course will take place from today through August 5th at WWIA’s Northern Healing Center, Camp Hackett, in Phillips, Wisconsin.

Our highest appreciation and gratitude to the Adaptive Sports and Arts – U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for supporting and funding this important mission. Additional thanks to Ravin Crossbows and Velocity Outdoor for their outstanding participation and support.

We would also like to recognize and thank the Safety Symposium Instructors: John McDaniel (WWIA Founder), Corrina Klahr (WWIA Logistics), Dr. Keith Tidball (Instructor, Therapeutic Recreation), Roy Munroe (Instructor, Velocity/Ravin), Brock McDermid (Instructor, Velocity/Ravin), and Casey Williams (Instructor, Layout Blinds). We truly appreciate everyone contributing their time, talents, and expertise to further train our Purple Heart Heroes.

Special thanks and gratitude to our seven remarkable Guides who are graciously taking time away from their families, jobs, and daily responsibilities in order to expand and improve their own skills and to further our mission to serve their fellow combat-wounded Veterans. Let’s wish them all well as they head into an awesome week at the Safety Symposium! 💜
