Win joined the Army in 2004 as an Infantry recruit with Airborne in his contract. My first duty station was Vicenza, Italy with the 173d “Sky Soldiers.” He deployed to Afghanistan with Attack Company in 2005 and again in 2007. After this second deployment he submitted a flight packet and was picked up for flight school. He attended flight school in Ft. Rucker, Alabama from 2009-2011 and selected the CH-47F “Chinook” helicopter.
After graduating Win was stationed at Ft. Campbell, KY with the 101st Airborne (Air Assault). He deployed to Afghanistan in 2012 and again in 2015 with Bravo Company 6-101. After Ft. Campbell he was stationed at Ft. Rucker where he taught flight students the finer points of flying the CH-47F. Win's final duty station was Ft. Drum, NY where he again deployed to Afghanistan in 2019. Win retired from Ft. Drum in 2024, completing a twenty-year Army career.
Win lives on a hobby farm with two kids, two cats, one dog and one wife. He works part-time as a fishing guide and owns a small charter service.
