The best hunt of my life! Doug and Julie McMann are incredible people ad fantastic hosts. The greeted me with warm hospitality and I immediately treated me like family. From the very beginning, it was non-stop action hunting with the dogs. Oscar will be a legend and he is the only reason I got to harvest such an awesomely huge black bear. At times Oscar was the only dog on the bear at a distance of 1.5 km ahead of the next dog. The bear would not tree and took the dogs on an 8-mile trip until we were finally able to sprint the 300 years into a meadow down wind and take the shot at 75 yards. The black bear was a massive 7-foot bear weighing 325 pounds. Doug is an incredible outfitter and black bear hunter. His knowledge of the area and his dogs are simply amazing. Julie is a fantastic cook and holds down all of the daily activities. This trip was my first time riding a horse and Julie was a great instructor. Thank you!
