As I sit around the glowing campfire, the only sounds I hear are crickets and camaraderie. Fifteen years ago, today I was surrounded by the same sounds and then the world changed. Being here at Gravel Springs was the best place I could be. Instead of being consumed with thoughts of painful memories, I was consumed with pride. Being surrounded by not only vets, but vets that know what you’ve been through is a great feeling. Add to that being surrounded by above average Americans who go out of their way to let you know how much they appreciate our service is awesome. Going hunting and fishing with these guys was just the icing on the cake. This is the first 9/11 that didn’t emotionally take its toll on me. I was too busy feeling the uncommon bond of a band of brothers. We all came together as strangers and left as friends. Great job WWIA! Thank you,
