Hunting for me has always been something that connected me to life before service. With memories of time spent in the woods with my Dad. The reality of 22 years of relentless deployment cycles put an extended pause on my ability to hunt, let alone be able to project, plan and execute a dream Northwoods whitetail hunt. The opportunity to make up for so much lost time and give it a go was amazing. The reception with Chris was first class. The people of Iron River were beyond amazing, and the landscape was second to none. We had a great group of warriors who synchronized like cogs in a watch. Lots of fish, deer, food, and camaraderie. This experience was meaningful to each of us, seeing the best parts of America, that few get to see and creating lifelong connections and memories. Thank you to the WWIA, Chris, Jimmy, Russell, Keith, John, Asa, Brenda, Josh and everyone else that made this a reality for us.
