I would like to first thank everyone involved in Wounded Warriors in Action. I was fortunate to be offered a bear hunt and had selected Camp Hackett. This trip has been so meaningful, and I will forever be grateful for such a gift and the relationships that I have formed. But before I share my experiences, I would like to give some personal acknowledgments to Mr. John McDaniel, thank you for successfully creating this organization. You were successful in selecting a piece of land where we could find peace, rest, and solitude. This place will always hold a special place in my heart as it has given me more than I could’ve ever hoped for. To Mrs. Corrina Bea Klahr, for working with me for years trying to get me out on an event. Fortunately, it worked out with my schedule, and I am glad that we were able to make it work. Your tireless work made the planning a process of ease. Thank you for all that you do. To the honorable Mr. Arthur Kandarian, without whom none of this event could’ve been possible. The care, love, and devotion were evident. He takes it personally to ensure the mission of the organization is carried out, and the veterans are taken care of. I have valued my time with Art and believe that he leaves a lasting impression on all with his calm demeanor, caring personality, and obvious passion to take care of his own. To Eddie Hoffmann, a fellow veteran, and our WWIA guide, as our guide he made sure we were well taken care of, our time enjoyable, and that everything was running smoothly. Eddie was professional, yet personable. Allowing for all to have room for what this event could and would provide. To all that made a contribution and lasting impression, Mike Reed, who spent countless hours doing so much behind the scenes and did it so discreetly and selflessly, to Bob, Jeff, and Casey, our fishing guides, John and Jake and the staff of Knock ‘Em Stiff Bear Hunts. And last, but not least, Mr. Joseph Vlach, who donated his bear tag and the people of Phillips, Wisconsin, who opened up their community and made us feel welcome, at home, and our service appreciated. This event was tremendous and outfitted to the highest of standards. I am so appreciative of this opportunity and all that it has given me. I was fortunate to have harvested, and I’m very grateful for my bear. To all, from the bottom of my heart, thank you.
