Changing the lives of America’s Purple Heart Heroes

WWIA transforms the lives of our nation’s combat-wounded Purple Heart Veterans by providing therapeutic and adaptive outdoor sporting adventures across North America that provide healing for their body, mind, and spirit. We empower these Warriors to rediscover purpose, build lasting bonds, and feel honored, supported, and connected once again.

Wounded Warriors Testimonials

This event has been one of a kind. The Host Dan has made me feel like I am home. I was able to hunt and shoot my first turkey of my life. I also caught my very first Palomino at Black Leggs Creek. The food and hospitality are unrivaled. Tyler, my guide, was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I was able to relax and unwind for the first time in a…

I had mixed emotions coming to an event like this since I've never attended one before. With that being said, this is the single best event or environment that I could've asked for. As soon as I walked into the lodge, I had an immediate comfortable feeling. As the night went on, I felt like I had gotten to know most of the people there to the point that I…

Doing things out of my safe zone is hard. The encouragement from my family and WWIA got me here. All my anxiety disappeared when I walked through the door. I had a blast, learned about turkey hunting, and slept for the first time in a long time. It's hard to receive appreciation, but when it comes from genuine people, it is easier to do. I got to talk to other…

Once Again, WWIA hits it out of the park. Dennis and Shelley are fine examples of great Americans. Talking to other Wounded veterans reminds me again that I'm not alone. Healing takes a lifetime and WWIA makes it easier. T. Hosfelt, US Army, Purple Heart recipient

But, this event, these people; man alive! I feel so much peace right now after just a few days. I know I'm odd, I can't help but pull away. But everyone here loved me…

This was by far the best trip I've ever been on. Even though I didn't get a turkey, the healing from the fellowship was worth more than anything else. This organization has helped me through dark times just knowing I'm not alone in a constant struggle in my head. Love the people, love the camaraderie and I get more out of this than I could have ever imagined. Thank you…
